Keyboard Restoration

A lot of old piano accordions deteriorate over time. The keyboard tops can fade, discolour or crack.

The keyboard top can be replaced however. The whole keyboard needs to be disassembled. But the whole top section is repairable and a cost effective way to upgrade or repair the old keyboard. Reedworks can do this work in our Sydney workshop. Below are some photos of a recent restoration of a Scandalli piano accordion by Tony Peri.

It is also possible to change the black and white keys to different custom colours. However the cheapest way is to only change the 'white' keys.

Sometimes the whole top mechanism needs replacing as well as the keyboard. This is a bigger and more costly job.

As well, the bass buttons can be replaced in matching or different colours. As each accordion is different, prices depend on what setup and restoration is needed.

Contact Tony at Reedworks if you would like some work done repairing your accordion - or upgrading it to a brighter personal look!
